I was going to say that Aspasia should make sure that she vapourises the entire brain, as that should slow down Big Blue’s recovery, but if his brains are somewhere else in the body she’s out of luck.
A little low for a direct brain hit (such a small target!), but it’s coming out the back, so it’s definitely severed the spine, which should make the rest of the body go limp. Even if it’s not a kill shot, she’s escaping the grip.
Why would blue magic work when red one failed over and over? I still think that green magic (sleep spell) seems the safest one, as regeneration shouldn’t work there.
She used the laser beam once, and it worked quite well at poking a big hole in the troll.
She may only be able to do it once though, or maybe the lightning blast is more effective, but harder to aim.
Either way, she’s now blown a big hole in it’s spine, so even if it regenerates that in seconds, it will still have dropped her, due to no signals going from brain to arms.
Nah, I don’t think she will be crushed. However, it is possible that this guys grasp will remain even after death, trapping her. She is probably able to wriggle out of his hand, but the skirt likely won’t make it…
there’s an hilarious scene in a movie whose name I forgot where a shooter with a scoped, full auto sniper/marksman rifle (yes, such thing DOES exist, H&K made it in the late 80’s) tells that line to a vampire as he basically saws its neck off with bullets. Impossible aiming skills? Yeah. Rule of funny cool? Of course.
‘Impossible’? Nah, not with a shit-load of training and natural skill
‘Rare’? Most certainly
Although, with the correct ammo, they could have done that with a single round: pop it right in the center, and no spine or neck (with the head left bouncing on the ground)
Dude! do not coflate “very difficult” and “impossible” 😀
Try, try sawing something off with a full auto rifle firing regular (7.62mm) ball ammo in a way that requires walking the fire with a precission smaller than the bullet diameter (what is shown to happen in that scene), THEN say “not impossible”. (Dunno how much experience you guys may or may not have with aiming, folks, but take my word for it, even with absolute, perfect aiming skils, projectiles DO deviate because of variables not under the control of whoever is aiming). A shooter passing every bullet through the diameter of the previous one just isn’t gonna happen – even less if said hole is actually moving. Unless you are Deadshot – and superpowers don’t count!
But it WAS a bloody hilarious (pun intended) scene 😀 (Spoiler alert: the vampire DID regenerate it – once the head was again near the body. Found itself into an incinerator when it happened, though…) Man, I wish I could find that movie again. Saw it on TV back in the late 80s, forgot to videotape it or write down the name, regretted it since.
Like I said, head shot. If Mazorfic is anything like real lightning then his brain is fried as may be indicated by his blue glowing eyes. Even if his brain regenerates it will be a tabula rasa, a blank slate. Nothing to operate except instinct and maybe not even that. Hey, here’s a thought, if he’s all child-like maybe she could be like ‘mommy’ and raise him. Be a hell of an asset.
I think in Delve 1.0, only once, episode 87, inside the belly of a snake, otherwise, yes, sister Paige was more into magical formula. So Bree probably had some basic low-level spells she remembered, just not many and not often. First and foremost, she was a rogue.
Her father insisted on having his daughters trained in basic elven magic, but the only magic lesson Bree ever managed to retain was a produce light spell… and probably a few of the naughtier cantrips she picked up from the other girls in the class.
Love it! Bree had the right attitude to formal education. She got by being sharp as a tack, and funny with it. Would love to see her using a few of the naughtier spells!
Very nice, wee lass, but that’s now where he keeps his brains.

Note that the lowest parts of brain (closest to spine) are the most important ones. And depending on how wide the hit is, she MIGHT hit those.
Aspasia’s magic remedy for bad breath.
When you remember your spell’s trigger word in the nick of time.
She might have been distracted when he licked her breast.

Over and over? She used red once
It also failed against the DM. But you’re right: the first time the troll regenerated it was a spear wound.
She used the laser beam once, and it worked quite well at poking a big hole in the troll.

He may have a crushing reflex? Reflexes don’t go through the brain. :/
In that case, the comic is over, as the current main character has died a grisly and very unlikely death.
My thought. She was still in his grasp. But she isn’t noted so far for thinking much further than seconds in the future.

“Regenerate THIS!!”

No, you said “Impossible aiming skills”
And it’s not about shooting the same spot, it’s basically ‘unzipping’ in a line like this ….
And it would still have been easier done with larger caliber bullets
…or with a stake-shooting autocannon… mmmm…. ideas, ideas 😀
I recon transitioning the brain stem through *at least* 2 states of matter is a pretty effective off switch.
Guessing Big Blue doesn’t like hair balls…

It’s not just his eyes that are glowing blue 😛
If it’s anything like a DnD troll, it shouldn’t regenerate from fire or acid. She needs a spell with one of those elements.
Should’ve had some light glow emanating from his ear holes, the same as the glow from his nostrils and eyes.
I have to ask. Did Bree ever have powers like that?
Bree is a rogue, not a mage. Her sister is a cleric, I think.

Being a comic, his brain may not be a vital organ. Just sayin’.
Being a troll, you might be right
