What indeed….besides seeming like you can’t do the job. Logically it makes sense to go back up given what has happened. We know from her past that she ‘needs’ to be an agent for some reason though we weren’t told why. This may be her only chance since she was apparently expelled.
She was described as having no friends, no subtlety, and no future. She appears to have minimal social skills so she influences things with actions, like putting Markho to sleep even though he is an ally, fighting the troll solo (with a little unasked for help from the good doctor), and retrieving the bags to get them to keep going. They should have escaped when they had the chance but I think she has a plan and she is trying to stick with it.
I’m guessing at this point that the slavers don’t really know a good path to the surface, or maybe Bree will send them all back to help out a certain namesake of Pericles’ partner in philosophy.
I originally thought she was named after a language disorder caused by brain damage, but that would be Aphasia.
