I’m really having a hard time processing that. It seems not so long ago that I was excited that we broke into the top 200, and now you’ve made Delve one of the top ten?
I’m kinda floored by that. Wow.
Thank you all so much for your support. I know I don’t talk about my personal life too much, but there have been a lot of bad times when I felt like just walking away from it all and giving up. Heck, I all but did give up on more than one occasion. Still, somehow, I kept coming back to it… not even sure why I did sometimes, but something about these characters made me want to tell their stories, no matter how silly or trivial they might have seemed to the more serious, cynical side of my personality.
Thanks for sticking with me, and for helping to get to this point… a point that I honestly never believed I would reach. It’s hard for me to accept that people actually like what I do. I don’t say that to elicit sympathy. I just want you to understand a little of how screwed up it is inside my head. I guess I’m just saying that there are a lot of bad memories in there, a lot of really bad things, but now, thanks to you all, there is something really amazing, something truly good… something that can never be taken away from me. It’s something that I will always be able to point to when the voices come howling in the middle of the night, telling me how much I suck.
I can now turn to my demons and say, “I made it to the Top Ten list, you imaginary sons o’ bitches, so shut the hell up!”
