Draxxorel’s goon tried to kill him earlier Doesn’t seem like something that’ll work. They supposedly delved in this location because Brian had spilled a lot of blood, so it might even help Draxxorel.
Don’t get me wrong, I know Brian has issues with depression we saw some suicidal tendencies in him earlier. But I’ll give him credit that what he appears to be trying here is likely more in line with a self sacrifice, being willing to die to save an entire world from a very horrible fate. Although it could well be the death of that world as well.
I feel like we’ve seen a multitude of fictional worlds, many of which might not belong to Brian. Pretty sure the All Mother and Nogrog gave the rundown on how Draxxorel is just the mouth of something much larger trying to eat its way into the fantasy worlds as the lines between them blurr.
Either way, Brian is relying on information fed to him entirely by Draxxorel and I don’t see why he’s in any rush to decide on things, so plenty of time to analyse the situation and work out the whole story.
As you guys know, I’m not a gun-buff, but I did think Brian could have at least used another three bullets on Draxx, the other eye, those teeth, his crotch…. But he is no longer frightened of death, although this seems rather impulsive, maybe not thought through, Brian! I’m wondering if the Dracomage has anything to say to Draxx. They are both from Brian’s id. And now we know, Draxxorel needs Brain to get through the door, which probably leads to the High Elf Throne-room. That’s what all the blood and mystery was about.
Nice to see Bree and Sark doing their impersonation of the beast with two backs. Is this a recollection of things past, or the shape of things yet to come?
In full agreement on the “shot him first” thing. You don’t need to like guns (hey, I hate them even if I know more about them and their history than many a “gun nut”) to know that if you plan on using a bullet on yourself, it has to be the last one – and you have to use all other of them on the fucker – preferably on the most painful and/or insulting places you can aim for. That’s not “gun-nutery”. That’s “doing things RIGHT”.
Not so sure about Drax being part of Brian’s id. This is not planet Altair IV.
Ha, ha, great movie!! My meaning is he, like Paul and Mandy and co, and the DM, I’m thinking, are all drawn from Brian’s subconscious, maybe ‘id’ sounds too posh and Freudian. Interesting your take on guns. Didn’t the DM say the same. Could have a long conversation there, from my non-gun English prospective.
No, I don’t think the DM and Drax are part of Brian’s mind, at all. The DM was indeed part of is campaign as his self-insert, but seems to have an existence outside of his mind just like Sephni or the sword ladies. And Drax… more of the same.
I would ask, in which comic do you get that “trauma caused by a pedophile” thing? Only thing I found in every Briand and/or Draxxorel aparition in the comic would be Mandy’s “I want my tits back, you pedo-freak!” insult at suddendly finding hersel back in a pre-teen’s body – which does NOT look like a real implication, at all.
The page before, third panel?
He reminds him of the creep from the locker room at the public pool, when he was a kid.
And he wants to shoot him again for that. What the creep exactly did, stays in the dark.
Could range from indescent exposure to heavy abuse.
On the literally previous page? “You sorta remind me of that creep from the locker room at the public pool when I was a kid” — and when followed with “I was kinda thinking of shooting you again just for that”, that is, for looking like that one guy, well… I mean, sometimes there is a guy whom you’d inexplicably want to punch simply for the way his face looks (have you seen Anthony Ramos in “Rise of the Beasts”? Ugh) but shooting him? I feel there is a bit more history involved about that “creep” than him simply being around, you know, to justify such level of animosity.
The inception solution.
The Blazing Saddles gambit.
Never fails.
That or the years without Brees player have just worn him down to an emotional nub.
Wait. what?!
That’s a bit final, don’t you think? Brian?
Considering the alternative…

I wonder if warm hugs work on the big lug himself
yeah, thats another reason why the DM tries to stop him

Yikes…that took a turn.
When ever someone gives you two (shitty) options, always go for the third (shittier) one
so it’s the personification of trauma caused by a pedophile. that sort of explains why he’s seemed so out of place ever since he was first seen
