Um, that was unexpected….The slug beasty inside Sephni, was that from fat, ugly, three-fingered guy stabbing her? But well done, Imugi, healer or not. And go team, one call from Bree, and Markho does the deed, SQTCH! Nice sound. Finally, last panel, Bree showing empathy to Imugi. That’s our girl! Why we love her. On, and right nipple popped out – oops! Don’t look, Brian! So, good episode, and love the ultra-realism. You’ve just gone up another ten levels from what was already a high.
And, extra treat, Paige three weeks ago, great Bree picture last week, and Bree again, with her ‘new friend’ – love Bree and snakes, if anything better even than spiders! Love to see the follow-up ‘Part 2’ to that one!
I suspect we’re going to find out that said slug is Draxxorel, and he succeeded in his plan to get to this side by hiding inside Sephni and having another fake pretend to be him.
My previous comment got eaten I guess, but I suspect that that is Draxxorel. We know that he wants to get to this world and he can make fakes of himself. Why not set up a fake to die while he hitches a ride within Sephni?
Not sure how to feel about a rogue standing behind someone with a dagger and asking if they’re OK, but I wonder if the healing drained Imugi enough that she might be struggling to prevent her fantasy world self from taking control.
We’ve seen from the old/current gods like Greenboot, that the fantasy character can be wildly different from the “player”. If we presume Imugi is largely resembling her “Player” imagine it’s possible her fantasy character could be a completely different species and even gender… it might even be a creature or person that Bree and the others should be more fearful of rather than a pitiful character trapped by Imugi.
If what Imugi needed to stp being a greymonster and become a full avatar was just to heal instead of killing, it would be the kind of corny that is awesome and the kind of awesome that is corny and awesomely corny and cornily awesome and I guess you get my idea
Question. Actual question. When Sephni removes her “turn everyone to stone” misguided attempt at a happy ending… will they take up the chance that there are currently TWO Sephnis around for a bit f a selfcest side story? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge
Agreed this is a question to be pondered, but I think we can safely assume the stone Sephni on the throne exploded when Brian and the real Sephni entered into High Elf/Delve world, so there will be no doppelgänger complications. More serious is the fate of Capria, whose arm may have been severed in the same explosion. Her chances of survival don’t look good. As for the murdered guards, that will be messy, Imugi decapitated most of them. Going to need the palace cleaning team in! I guess the majority of the population, outside the confines of the palace, including the monastery of St. Bertilak, still just carry as before, unaware of their recent stonification. Why did Sephni do the ‘happy ending’ thing? If it was to ‘save’ the High Elves from Cherek’s Orcs, it was a mistake, given his alternative name as ‘Stonebreaker’.
Imugi’s earpod in Sephni’s ear suggests she’s the real one which was frozen on the throne.
We might have to wait for Sephni to recover and explain things. Its hard to tell how much of her actions were hers alone and how many were the influence of Draxxorel.
Its possible Draxxorel pushed Sephni to perform the happy ending so he could set the scene for Brian to open the door and let Draxxorel enter the fantasy world properly. Its equally possible that Sephni did this to try and remove Draxxorel’s influence from the world.
Ah, you make n interesting point in your last sentence. Really the only ‘uninfluenced’ Sephni we have really seen is the long ago moment she was carrying off as Bree tried to save her, and the occasional Incent Art flashbacks. Otherwise she wore what I call the immortality collar, which was apparently Draxxorel’s means of controlling her, but for what? His plaything? I think Sephni’s ‘happy ending’ moment (actually unintentionally inspired by a D-Art commentator) was her own, yes to protect the High Elf peoples from Draxxorel, that makes more sense. Ironically, she was unaware that it would have made Cherek’s conquest and destruction of said Kingdom easier! It looks like she varied back and forth between being influenced and uninfluenced, like the times she saved Bree – several times which seem to imply she was aware of Bree/Jen’s true nature. Paige is defiantly a creature of the Delve world, despite being Bree’s sister. Charlie was more likely to have been another avatar. But Sephni is more ambiguous.
Is it supposed to look like she just coughed up a uterus with teeth? Because it looks like she just coughed up a uterus with teeth.
…
Considering a lot of other things in this comic over the years, I should probably not be surprised.

Hoping you’re feeling better, man!!

I assumed the slug was a remnant of Draxxorel the Devourer? From her long stay in its clerics care ? We will see I guess

Drax was already in that world, that’s where he came from
indeed kudos all around. Interesting that the new DracoMage (Brian) shifts the art style, very nice.
Take care my man.

The last time I’m certain we had an “uninfluenced” Sephni was when the Mind Ripper appeared to “wake” her up: https://delvecomic.com/comic/sticks-and-stones/
